01384Final ARTWORK ($ 320.00):
[ NOTES ON THE THREE SCANS. The artwork is in a black Walsall
Security Printers folder.
SCAN 1 shows the actual artwork itself which is at the bottom of the folder.
SCAN 2 shows the plastic overlay with artwork for the words and value sitting on
top of the actual artwork.
SCAN 3 shows the first page in the folder which shows instructions to the
printers.
THERE IS NO VERTICAL FOLD in any page - the apparent fold shown in the middle of
each scan is just because the item was too large for my A4 sized scanner, so I
had to scan each page twice and join them together. In real life there is no
bends or folds. More details below as to size and artist/designer. This is a
rare piece of final original hand-painted artwork obtained from the Tonga
printers archives. The printers were Walsall Security Printers of London UK.,
and this is the artwork for the MS from Niuafoou 1995 Singapore Stamp Exhibition
showing a swimming dinosaur.. Size is 40cm x 28 cm. This piece is of course
unique, as well as fitting across two exhibit pages, and is beautifully done.
The designer artist was Derek Miller, now quite a famous stamp designer/artist.
Not too many countries have released the actual artwork done for issued stamps,
so this is a good opportunity for an exhibitor to be able to display an actual
piece of artwork for an issued stamp in their exhibit. This item is of course
unique.
